I love the buildings ! The first impression for me is they are marking their signature onto this land…

I would say – the sheiks get what they deserve These all are monuments of the architects itself. Well when the culture of a city is so poor, that it has to buy character and monuments hen why shouldn´t they do it. It worked well in Bilbao – so it also could work in Abu Dhabi.
All of the designs are quite interesting, but none of them shows any connection to the purpose for which they are built. Question is, if architecture may be reduced to form experiments without any thinking of functional needs. Not to mention the climatic problems of most of the buildings and the unnecessary waste of ressources of any kind, which is the main brandmark of most of nowaday´s architecture.
But especially in this case here there is surely no need to think about all that. Sheiks have money like shit and they use it in the same way ) Wish them all a happy awakening someday in a city full of such monsters.
