I understand Dubai has a reticulated central chilled coolant system, and that a whole beach is cooled with undersand refrigerant. This has to be considered unsustainable. Has our green hysteria made us view every human endeavor as evil? The carbon footprint of cooling is much less than heating. In the states, cooling emits 110 metric tons of CO2 while heating is nearly 8 times that amount. (Cooling is much efficient than heating).
