There is good design. There is crappy design. And there is freakin' useless design...

I don't think there are any anti-designers around. I think there are a lot of real-life designers that are not that dumb to say 'yes sir' to everything.

I think she's on to something. I hate excessively noisy appliances. And the photos are cute in a kitschy surrealist sort of way.

But I have to wonder, how come your design blog has so many anti-design commenters?

Ok...so the washer throws everything off. But Lise is definitely on to something with the small appliances that we not only hear (filling our environments with all sorts of audible and visual pollution)...but actually touch/handle during operation (read: vibration). What's missing for me, is the process and the insights accompanying the text.
If you're reading this Lise, remember; how you came to your conclusions is equally, if not more important than the title or visual results. Be sure to communicate the process in your portfolio.

I appreciate the effort.
just one question,
why is the title 'aesthetics of domestic sound'
instead of 'aesthetics of domestic touch'.
tried to avoid being 'direct' and pursue being 'poetic'?
I sincerely think being honest is better and more appealing.
