Everybody 'jumps' on Jaime claiming he is the new Starck (like they did a four years back with the Bouroullec Brothers).
And I did love me some designs from Jaime which were already showned on this amazing website.
But sometimes I wish there wasn't such thing as internet, so he could develop himself steadily instead of being 'catapulted' as the new star and fall off within a few years.

Those few years on the downlow seems to improve the designs from the Bouroullec Bros.

I love Jaime's work but unfortunately I think that ICON Magazine is right to point out that unfortunately designers/artists such as Jaime are not been allowed to develop their work further. If we are honest here, Jaime is just recycling himself with this vases and other projects by simply varying the scale of the work and re arrange his initial sketches. If you've ever had a chance to look at his drawings, they are amazing but that doesn't mean that everything he "dreams" can become material because it actually looks over-scaled, and badly detailed. Case in point, the camper store located in Passeig de Gracia in Barcelona. Amazing use of colors, material finishes but the actual quality of the finished product is not that great. Perhaps this has to do with the fact that Jaime doesn't actually spec any of this things, but in the end I just believe he needs to take a breather, step back and re asses his work because is getting tiring within just a year and a half of ridiculous exposure and abuse by everyone.

Jaime's work is daring and original, straddling between design and artoyz. It will be interesting to see how his career evolves. I bet all the collectors will snap these vases up !
