Design Talks at Design Miami/Basel transcripts

Dezeen has teamed up with Design Miami to publish the transcripts of the Design Talks programme at the Florida fair's sister event, Design Miami/Basel 2007, which was held in Switzerland this June.

There are four transcripts in total, containing verbatim write-ups of the event's discussion and interview programme (see below).

The talks leading figures from the design world including Vitra chairman Rolf Fehlbaum; designers Hella Jongerius, Maarten Baas and Front (top photo); journalists Alice Rawsthorn and Julie Lasky and many more.

Design Miami takes place in the Miami Design District from 7-9 December and will feature another Design Talks programme.

    Thanks for the transcripts though I wish I was there in person! I particularly enjoyed the panel on The Process Behind Limited Edition Design. Lynn’s comment “There’s something that I find troubling about the edition design, which is that luxury is a part of the equation whether you want to admit it or not” reminded me of another interview I was reading about Porsche Design’s Roland Heiler and their collaboration with Veuve Clicquot for Vertical Limit. He sums up the luxury factor as “for something to be a lifelong companion.’ Food for thought?
