There are about 50,000 Jews in Mexico City who descended from ancestors who fled the Spanish Inquisition. There are many more conversos (people who were forced to convert to catholicism). Diego Rivera was one of them.

If you think you require a certain kind of space to be able to meditate (usually this kind of psuedo zen cliched austerity) then you are merely relaxing and are unlikely to be meditating in its true and fullest sense.

Far better to sit on the pavement and consider the tree shadow on the wall outside.

nice…..i was creating meditative space by myself a few months ago. so i was gladly surprised that main ideas about meditation were the same, the same conclusions found, the simmilar way to develop space.
