How come architects have become the unthinking whores of these regimes?
Oh yeah - they have got money...! 
These architects have no claim to high minded concepts of art - a human activity that is traditionally characterised by the stimulation and liberation of the mind.

Does anyone know sg. about the progress of their completion of these buildings  (I'd be particularly interested in some photos taken in the recent past)?</description>
