dezeen should make a new section where you could endlessly discuss about the difference between art and design and “what is actually design?” and all that kind of things. In that case the responses to the published works will be a bit more to the point rather than always the same discussions everywhere…

I have to agree with the above: there is a degree of moderation required on the part of the blog to filter out stuff that obviously is irrelevant. But most of this Milan baiting twaddle is crap. Does anybody remember this: design used to be about evolution, ingenuity and an enrichment of the human condition. On its best days it can arrive at solutions that have the potential to save lives.
Conversely, most of this ‘product’ constipates the human condition with pointless trash issuing from the feeble imaginations of designers who have lost (or never had) understanding. The audience needs to get more demanding, and demand more of an industry that operates like a ‘make and do’ nursery class.

i think it’s really about the lack of design criticism on the part of the blog. Some blogs like these will showcase everything and anything, There is no criteria placed anymore on what is good or bad, it’s simply about the next new thing. With such a large market for design, I don’t blame the people who run the website although it would be nice to actually show some restraint and editing.

Tomorrow this will be forgotten and replaced with something else and it won’t matter. I really wouldn’t get too worked up about it.

Dezeen should create a new section where such “things” should be listed.
