what's the big deal about another media wall? How different is this from a giant neon sign? All that hype about electronic art, solar powered cells.......For those who don't know, this building houses a restaurant on the lower floors, karaoke rooms in the middle and a spa/bordello on the top, catering to all the military and government leaders who live in the area. The client also built another hideous building designed by no other than Raimund Abraham.

It's astonishing to see that my post made yesterday is not here anymore! It because either not passed the administrator's reveiw, or simply being removed. Is that because I pointed out that the name showing on the wall is actually Hotel / Restaurant instead of Media Art?

@Skeptic...as sarcastic as your comment is, I do agree with you on one thing. The project alone is nice and intriguing, but it's best to save the word 'sustainable' for others. Sustainable means life-cycle. You don't usually invest a super-huge, unreasonable sum just to build a green' facial' building. It consists also of the consideration of the construction waste, down to the ability and skill of local labors to the political correctness behind a project. Check the Holcim website and you'll know what sustainability means.

Excuse me if I'm wrong, since it's just photos and nothing more. Perhaps it will become very sustainable after some times when it stands and consume very little energy and considerably low maintenance.

"offering the most radical example of sustainable technology applied to an entire building’s envelope to date."

That's pretty infuriating. Forgetting for a moment that batteries for storing PV power is incrediably wasteful (get that thing feeding the grid, damn it)... how is it sustainable to produce sooo much more vanity, spectacle lighting than they need? How much energy went into manufacturing that wall and how much on up keep.

The BS blatant abuse of the term "sustainable" makes me puke in my mouth a little.
