i can't help but to notice the fact that GINA seems eerily similar to vaGINA. to compound the situation, GINA is a high powered sports car, traditionally a male dominated genre, with a "hood" that reveals itself and looks creepily like vagina as well, more like a robot vagina, now the transformers have something of substance of which to play.

an interesting design concept.along with this new technology however, have the engineers also considered making the exterior out of a different material other than "fabric"??.fabric belongs in a wardrobe, for a car why have they not considered making some sort of recyclable,(thicker than a sheet),plastic.there is also a technology available that blends solar cells into a fabric for solar curtains.why not on a car?

if i were to write to the engineers of BMW (or any other manufacturer for that matter)and tell them to build me a car,the specs would have to be this...aside from the obvious standards of safety(airbags, etc, etc.)this car should have...

-the entire car would have to be able to be recycled, including the battery that runs the car, with no harm (toxic effects)to the environment whatsoever.*see below.(if i got into an accident and the car was totaled,i'd like to be able to take the wreckage to the dealer and have them squeeze me out a new one for a fraction of the cost.

-it would have to run on solar power to run at least a partial power charge to the car which runs entirely on electricity.

-0-60 in under 5 seconds i don't think is too much to ask.

-Lamborghini-esque styling in an eco friendly car.doors that go up.two seats, good sound system, big rims...extended service package for the life or lives of the vehicle.this would also keep the price of the vehicle reasonable for the average consumer.

anyone else like my idea?
drop me a line!!!! lawlessmethodologist@live.com

keep it green!!Peace!

It's clear that the designers of this BMW have looked at and been inspired by the work of the Dutch designer Jurgen Bey (http://www.jurgenbey.nl). Especially the interior shows similarities with Bey's cocoon furniture projects.
Never the less, this is an extremely interesting project by BMW, much different from the knitted car project by Chrysler. Any textiles have many more application possibilities than used right now and are easier to produce than metals. Even as much important is that textiles are in general more environmental friendly. I hope we are going to see more of such projects in future.

Um, maybe i'm missing something, but I find this car to be horridly ugly. Indeed, over the past couple of years I've started to dispise the new look of the beemer, a car that I had always wanted to buy again after buying aused 2002 back in the late 70s. I think I'll just try to find another 2002.
