It is so wonderful because before it was such a bad neigbourhood and this station makes everything feel so good. There is so much light and the wood in the seeling makes it feel very safe. Also the magnificant views you get when rolling down the stairs... I think this is second to the main station in antwerp the best user experience you will get in a station. I love this station. Definitely the nicest one in Amsterdam, and maybe even the best in the entire Netherlands. The only thing that I don't like that much is the transfer from train to metro: you'd have to go down those massive staircases, and ride up on the other end... It could've done with a shortcut of some sort. But as far as esthetics go: visually pleasing, clear routings, nice spaces. It’s a really beautiful station.
