It is literally unbeleivable to think that those 10 projects are considered the "10 best student projects" for this year. They are on the whole shallow, pointless and without regard for the greater need for design today. A doll of Zaha Hadid? are you serious? Firstly... remember the Ron Arad action figure... much better. Secondly... there must have been genuine problems solved by students this year, and their precious and worthy headlines get swallowed by things like this. Thirdly... a personal gripe, but do Karim Rashid and Zaha etc not strive for enough attention without people making dolls in their image (thou shalt not worship false idols!).

Turning skips into pools etc is a really nice idea, but its not like there is an abundance of skips littering our street corners, desperatle needing recycling.

A couple of nice concepts that make for interesting reading, but come on Dezeen... this is a very poor list, and its almost as if you just featured the first 10 people to email you after New Designers. Give us some substance!

I think there's some very interesting stuff on this list - wine glasses inspired by the seven deadly sins is a great concept and I love the rehabilitation center. The book vases are lovely to look at but I think the newspaper yarn has more practical applications and is a better way of recycling the relevant product.. My favourite though is the alphabet through photos of the sky, very well done!

seems pretty crazy to me that SkipWaste was able to take out first prize despite its extreme similarity with the past work of Santiago Cirugeda- thus leaving the work lacking in originality... This work goes into more depth and is playful- which is good, however i believe the work by Santiago Cirugeda is more interesting conceptually and politically.

The Zaha Doll has got the designer in a realm of trouble. A cease and desist order from Zaha's lawyers.
Note to self: Must sue everyone who has ever taken a photo, drawn a picture of me or even had the audacity to utter my name.
