Hmm, what is it we want to do after the concrete tri-pod? A desire to go taller, bigger, testaments to humanity? What will we learn from this? In terms of energy, it is surely a waste of money, no?
I appreciate this tower,not for what it is, a masterbatury effort of the will, a constractors and engineers wet dream, but for what its offspring might be: something more than a symbol.
It will reveal an increaseed understanding of operating at that scale in terms of construction, but to what end? Do the means justify the ends? Is this the right decision, given what we know?
Why one kilometer, again? What does it have to do with anything?
Why are architects cool with this? Architects? Hello.

yet another dubai ejaculation ! i have to say the futuristic look is kinda of cool but wears out and gets boring very quickly because there is no intellectual depth – purely technical – not against hight but mindless hight with very little vision except the mere fact of hight is hardly visionary at all and so last century and old and done and boring, move on dubai before its too late! …maybe its too late already.
