The idea of using the grid to generate the undulating forms is nearly completely lost, and quite hard to read in the finished pavilion. I didn't read the entire article but do the "cutouts" in the roof of the pavilion direct visitors' views to surrounding landmarks?

On the other hand, for being placed in such a public context, maybe it is successful at just looking cool. Maybe more as just a sculptural tribute to Chicago?

Highly accessible? I do think that this kind of structure, to be enjoyed by everyone should have the 'kindness' to permit the access to everyone. I do not think a child, an elder or even someone in a wheel-chair can get to the platform. 30 cm high! Is this for real?

Brett - you probably too frankly and objectively, and without pretentious extraneous language.

Try wanking your text up a bit.

You might find some more inspiration here: http://www.dezeen.com/2009/03/30/high-voltage-transmisison-line-towers-by-arphenotype/

How is it that my comments always get rejected, but Prof. Z (who's input nobody agrees with, let alone understands) has 3 posted comments on one topic?

Since UNStudio describes its program this way: "Programmatically the pavilion invites people to gather, walk around and through and to explore and observe," I'm going to say that this is another useless and environmentally irresponsible structure from them.

The developers need to keep in mind that this installation will be sitting in public, and people will use it as they want. Do they really want people on top of this thing? If not then those leg/curve things need some modification, looks like you can climb right up through them at this point. Otherwise, I mean it looks kind of trendy/curvy but at what expense is this coming? I would expect a little more art for the buck here. Also, no real place for anthing to happen here besides sitting around, I don't see anything included for information or for any purpose other than standing there stopping the rain. It looks like most of the consideration for this piece went into some off-the-wall idea to get all sorts of crazy mathmatical patterns enscribed in the structure. Save it for your thesis bub! ;)
