It is amazing how many different ways the city can be depicted in logos, never wearing out the concept.

like any good archive, you never really realize how valuable the collection is until its gathered. its understandable that logos with the skyline wouldn't be redrawn to reflect the towers' absence but i wonder if the new skyline (http://www.respect-authority.com/2009/04/the-new-world-trade-center/) will finally force an update?

.

Hello this is Morgan,

When I hear "These logos will not last forever as many of the small business will either update their logos at some point or close their doors eventually."
I want to say, simplistically and fundamentally, that nothing lasts forever.
I see this purely as a sentimental collecting exercise and not an artistic project. No different to collecting paintings (or trading cards) of an artist (or footballer) as soon as he dies, as naturally the value or in this case sentimentality will increase.

I would be more interested to see a collection of post 9/11 logos not featuring the twin towers, where the presence of the absence is much more striking.

yours.
