Isn’t this supposed to be a basket to collect paper? Why would anyone throw a soda can in it?

This is a lovely design on the surface, but I’m afraid bits of moisture from a soda can or a take out container would soak into the paper and ruin the esthetic with greasy stains through all of the layers and/or weaken the paper so it would tear. Admittedly, I am a ‘function over form’ person.

I believe its so green and useful.
we have problem with current bin in our office. every day some one must empty them and there is always dust on it .
