Interesting, very interesting. Deformation has always been an interesting subject in form creation. If we think carefully every work of art deforms to achieve its goals: it was the invention of photography what forced Picasso to abandon strait figurativism at the beginning of last century. Now, in this case: deformation what for? Amédée Ozenfant used to say that the role of geometry in art was to attract the eye of the spectator “like the shine to the fish” but once your attention was caught something deeper had to happened to be a truly work of art. The golden appearance of this device (attractive, like a Ferrero Roche) reveals its impotence to demonstrate its inner architectural value: its form is not a valid spatial alternative to introduce art in everyday life.

While I agree that the building is beautiful, and my hats off to the contractors, I can't help but comment on the lack of interaction between the two buildings. (The new building, while beautiful, looks like an awkward add-on.)

The portion between the two buildings is what grates on me. If it had been designed as a go-between I think the add-on would be much stronger for it.
The old building has a very noticable foundation and roof. The new addition does not. If the connecting portion had a suggested foundation and suggested roof, while still cloaked in that beautiful cladding, it might make the transition between the two buildings less jarring. (or maybe more of a bronze color rather than gold?)

if im honest i just sighed a sigh of relief (kind of ahhh, how nice), reading about this building, because of the consideration for teenagers.... It looks like an inspiring space to study in and read, kind of cool. Its also conversion with an annex, I really like this project.
