I for one am completely taken by the facade and the texture. its not something I see often, and is strangely beguiling and appealing to me. And like others have said - I think the context was addressed very elegantly.

Forgive my ignorance - but what is cotto, exactly? Terracotta or similar? Tried to search for information, but all I could find is that it's a popular surname.

hmmm, I thought about this yesterday - when i was looking at the images of the building i also tried to imagine the exterior without the main linear texture.

I found that if i did this (looking at the building in picture no 3 , along side the other buildings) the building seemed to lose some strength of its identity, for me, so i came to the conclusion that the building was better with the linear texture (which could be associated with corrugated cardboard or i seem to think maybe even metal grilling/vent type things),

I really like this, i read the cartoon feel (if there is one) more as a " jolly" simplicity. The external proportions and materials I think, are really lovely, in context and yet modern, to the buildings & environment that surround it.
And the consideration of a stage is really nice for possible community out door things. Its not a really big imposing building but for me it looks very convincing. Is it in the tradition of Aldo Rossi though?
