Eamonn – ive now just looked at BBPR’s memorial at Carpi to those deported to nazi (very very sad), I see similarities in the structures, etc but there are also differences, I guess a bit like the deaths of all these people?, all very very sad and unnecessary, died for different reasons (different causes – but with possibly vague similarities?, not sure, very difficult subjects to talk about without offending anyone, over simplifying etc), (just my view) I still find this memorial very good.

Prior to the Libeskind / Eisenman examples there was BBPR’s memorial at Carpi from 1973 – with lettering designed by Albe Steiner http://guttae.blogspot.com/2008/04/bbpr-monument-to-those-deported-to-nazi.html
