The massing is hideous. The scale out-landish...the pattern language on the surface of the buildings are not harmonious. The materials clashing. The context violated. Craftmanship shoddy. The bridges, too thin for the rest of the huge tower-blocks. The MIT dorm was already bomastic and atonal. This project borders on the macabre. The project signals the 'decline' of the West in China. Wonder if Frampton would consider this 'critically regional?'

agree with CICI,
//if you look at it with an internal logic it makes sense if you look at it from the city it is a ghetto for rich people exactly a city within the city inside which you cannot enter.
//details are not as good but overall it seems a good work.
//concept it is interesting but it can be developed much further making it really a porous development.
//too often they forget to mention where the project is located, next to highway in front of another development which makes it hard to be integrated with the city. you get there by cab!

Well. It is a real independent combination in Beijing City, like a unexpectable island gathering the rich living in besides the main traffic. And the outside people even the overseas cheer up for its complicated technology and its fresh look. Well, I prefer the old historic houses lying in Beijing silently which keep losing its shadow and light around these new monsters in this city.
