BMWs iteration couldnt possibly be as small, light, and cheap because it requires more safety equipment, and frankly the shape of it isnt that efficient by todays standards. The point of the original Mini, and what made it so popular in the first place was the very poignant fact that it was an everyman's car. It was affordable and available to most people, truly a marvel of concept, design and simplicity. This, and the other BMW models have stripped the mini of that beloved persona when they elevated its status to the chic floor. RIP my dear mini. A travesty.
