Not a house for the claustrophobic, even though it has high ceilings. I would need some larger windows somewhere to keep from feeling like I was wearing blinders or trying to peek through partially closed venetian blinds.

Apparently this house is designed for a family of moles. Don't all structures have 'the ever changing pattern of light bringing it to live'? The plan is revolutionary, a long narrow corridor with rooms attached to it, please!

This project is a one liner at best. Yet another example of what is wrong with many of the projects being published today.

interesting idea and architecturally quite dramatic, but as a home I'm not so sure...natural light and views are fundamental to pyscological well-being in a home, this could be a very overbearing space to inhabit.

Ok, it is austere, but it must be great to have the ever changing pattern of light bringing it to life.

Putting aside Japan's perfectionist finishes etc. - What is so impressive about it bar the fact that it's a house with a lot of slits?

The photography is shot with a good eye for pattern. From the exterior the slits are reminiscent of the narrow gaps in a wide board fence. The interior is very minimalist, a stylish and abstract space. The long expanse of unadorned concrete inspires the thought that it could stand against an army of invaders. Its great height makes humans seem small. In many ways it reminds me of a stone castle. Yet a castle was built for raiders and invaders. This house would appeal to someone afraid; I would expect it to be near a high crime area. The house emphasizes the joy and comfort of the interior, of the family. The house seems to exclude the outside world from the interior life. It looks desert like with no joy of landscape. A space sparse of life and unappreciated. Even the grass is sad. It needs a flowering ground cover and more plants to soften the harsh exterior.

If I have to go to jail for white collar crime, I guess that's as good a correctional facility as any.

That's going in every project statement of mine from now on.
