For a project to take as long as this one over ten years, it is astounding to see the way in which it has been so readily received and accepted as part of New York City. For sure there are things that could have and should have been different, but the beauty and resilience of the message is undeniable, the city is and always will be for people. the TKTS booth itself is quite lovely, but after visiting it in person the adjacency to the statue is rather distracting. it successfully “revitalizes” times square by offering a place for rest and observance, but it doesn’t feel integrated with the monument to duffy. when sitting on the stairs, all you can think is “WTF, why is this statue in the way of viewing times square?!”
