There's an opportunity here, for an enterprizing company in the solar field. Haiti is located in an area with abundant sun, wind and natural resources for solar. The Haitian government should be contacted by a company in this endeavor and talks should start on the future of Haiti as a country OFF THE GRID.
I know this is a sad time and many resources for the reconstruction of Haiti are the immediate concern, but, there is an opportunity and it should not be overlooked!

Ridiculous, this will have absolutely NO IMPACT whatsoever. Have you not learned from the past. Money has been poured into Haiti for decades, and the country has never made one single step forward on its own. You silly, silly ignorant people.
Please stop your pathetic 'clever' charitable projects, for god sake. Haiti simply does not have the innate ability to climb out of any form of pit it finds itself in. You are simply depleting the already dwindling resources of your own credit leveraged economies.
In years to come they will blame you for interfering in their sovereign state.

Fantastic idea. hopefully this will also lead to a new vision for haiti, and even more hopefully, unlike in the past, the ideas of native haitians will be considered. One also wonders if haiti's location in the very midst of the developed world has brought it all this sympathy and attention. wonder what tthe response would have been if an earthquake destroyed burkina faso or papua new guinea.

wonderful idea though.
