i think the use of each material was chosen and used on purpose.
For example the white steel frame used to give the building more light and transpancy. Also they used the steel deck to solve th loading problem.

CoopHimmelblau's glass rooftop solution in Vienna was way more elegant and fancy. Even so it was … probably 20 yrs ago.

wait until the copper goes green and covers half of the nice white steel… then it'll be expressive.
