Hold on, if work commissioned and produced specifically for the Olympics can't be acknowledged and celebrated during Olympic year, when exactly can it? Designs of the Year 2013?

So: Nokia, Microsoft, London Olympics...I'm really surprised that the Shard didn't win an award for architecture. Or did it? I couldn't be bothered to look. It seems that the Designer Of The Year Award lost its soul entirely. It used to be a celebration of raw and independent british creativity which has now morphed into some weird corporate ball(s) game. Really not interested in it anymore. What lead the jury to lose their balls...sorry, spine?
