Nendo’s design concept reflects a specific aim: to give weight to the value of inspiration. The studio’s philosophy stems from recognizing the “!” moments hidden in the everyday that enrich life and make it interesting. As they have stated, “We’d like the people who’ve encountered Nendo’s designs to feel these small ‘!’ moments intuitively.” Founded in 2002, Nendo has produced numerous collections that include the award-winning 1% range of small items, as well as the Cabbage chair made from the pleated paper remnants of Issey Miyake’s design production. Additionally, the firm has collaborated with many manufacturers represented by Luminaire including Lasvit, Established & Sons, Cappellini, Moroso, DePadova, Maruni and Foscarini, among others.

Founded in 2011 and inspired by the same kind of design thinking that defines Nendo, the K% collection challenges the way one thinks about the surrounding environment with design that is accessible and affordable without a compromise in quality. The result is a transformation of people’s interaction with everyday objects with work that is deceptively simple, yet complex in its innovative conception and production. As it evolves, K% will involve contributions from different designers. Luminaire’s exhibition will also include pieces from Lasvit, Established & Sons, Bisazza, Cappellini and Foscarini.
