Since when has "mass appeal" been synonymous with "this is good"?

It seems like the RCA is becoming the Design Academy in Eindhoven.

Are designers entertainers and " story tellers" or should they provide a service to companies and people, so objects work better and use less resources that they did in the past?

If this is about story telling, shouldn't they be doing the Communications Art and Design Master instead of the Product Design one?

Just saying.

What I meant is you should appreciate a piece of art for what it is, without having to read the accompanying brochure, or the little text below the frame.

Sure, you can investigate more about the circumstances behind a piece, and appreciate it even further.

But I ask you this: If a person knew absolutely nothing about Christianity, don't you think it would still find Michelangelo's La Pieta instantly appealing?

Really like these, interesting project. Art should never communicate instantly? Why would you want it to? There's only so much you can instantly communicate. I personally enjoy looking a little deeper.

I don't know. If you are not briefed about the circumstances of the object, they become meaningless.

Art should communicate instantly, without giving you a previous introduction.
