QR codes were dated when they first launched and are at the end of their life span after a few short years. They were never cool and never really cracked the mainstream. Isn’t architecture supposed to have some degree of permanence? This must win the award for the most ill-conceived design ever.

I would have preferred the QR codes become the basis for an abstracted pattern that would have provided a dual identity and the appeal of an artist derived pattern becoming the basis for a longer term aesthetic solution.
