A very nice integration of the indoor and outdoor that brings guests of the place a special experience beside the exterior views of the nature around the site.

While the Villa Savoya almost seems to float above the landscape, especially when seen from the garden, this building looks heavy from every angle and it rests firmly on the ground.

The same contrast is to be found in the interior spaces: open floor plans with pilotis vs enclosed spaces divided by load bearing walls. Comparing the inner courtyard is near impossible for Villa Savoye doesn't have any - or you should want to compare it with the spacious first floor terrace.

Mind you, while Le Corbusier easily could have opted for "dissolved corner openings", he specifically chose fenêtres en longueur instead.

I do think it a very well executed design - I particularly like the courtyard and its upper floor gallery - but I'd have to look very hard in order to find any echoes of the cinq points de l'architecture moderne for which of course the Villa Savoya is a prime example.

The internal courtyard and dissolved corner openings, instantly reminds me of Le Corbusier Villa Savoye - which of course, is no bad thing : )
