Has anyone here actually looked into the pressures created when a bullet is fired? I strongly doubt that "ammunition for an army" will be a subject for a 3D printer. It's misinformation like this that gets people fear-mongering.

Anything that puts power into the hands of the people and away from the government, as the Second Amendment intended, is fine by me. The Second Amendment is what guarantees all the others. AR-15s for everyone!

"You know, you can basically print ammunition for an army, and this is very frightening."

In my opinion, not as frightening as the risk that articles such as this, informed by people who have read too much science fiction, but apparently not bothered much to acquaint themselves with the actual facts, will scare similarly misinformed people within government into legislating heavily against an interesting emerging technology before it has a chance to actually do some good.

Anyway, you can buy ammunition in WalMart, for christ's sake. Now THATs frightening.

This article is very slightly less misinformed. Some of the comments are better. <a href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/sep/26/3d-printing-..." target="_blank">www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/sep/26/3d-printing-...
