I personally think the idea is a good one. There is a need to separate work from home for those who do have long commutes and don't have the luxury of living near their work environment. I do agree with others though, that the design looks rather shelter-ish on the exterior. I do feel the interior, though, is a warm, welcoming environment, suitable for working long hours (of course you'd have to go into your home for the toilet) and looking at the sketches it actually doesn't appear to be all that small.

I don't want to work at home. I want to go somewhere else, interact with people for a certain amount of time and then go home to a seperate place and people. Old fashioned I know but it works for me.

The concept of creating modular office units is a great solution to conciliate family/work time by saving on commuting time.

But where is the aesthetic integration of that thing with the existing architecture? It looks like a post-war shelter.

Surely the idea here is better than the concept of actually working at home in the home?

This way there is clear distinction between the family part of the dwelling and the work part. Not to mention, of course, that the real distinction of work and home life is more time-orientated anyway.

You can't expect people to spend the time they are supposed to be working with their family or it wouldn't be working in the first place!

An office pod in the backyard is the emergent ecological solution to losing time in traffic, coworker-discussions and social protocol. Also an opportunity to spend more time in the morning and evening with your family instead of taking part in the stressful ratrace of daily life. Presentation could be better, but splendid design!
