We wanted to do something similar in the Kent countryside - a new build designed to look like a barrel-vaulted agricultural building with one glass side that would typically be open to the elements in a hay stack for example. Unfortunately, our planners were very conservative and wouldn't consider it. So well done to Mole Architects for persuading them to try something different. I love the wood cladding on the interior of the vaulted ceiling. I love it. It doesn't disappear at all like a good glass link should. It pushes too hard up against the old roof and its corners poke harshly at the curved barel vault. This does not appear to have that shape. Would tunnel vault be a better description?
