Dezeen's #milanogram2015 winner revealed

Milan 2015: more than 9,000 images from Milan's design week have been uploaded to Instagram using our #milanogram2015 tag, but this shot by Matti Kleell has been named best photograph by our panel of judges.

Visitors to Milan's annual design fair were invited to post pictures of their favourite moments using the Dezeen hashtag #milanogram2015, with the best images regrammed by the Dezeen account and included in a series of daily updates on the site.

A number of well-known designers joined in, with Tom Dixon, Fabio Novembre, Lyndon Neri and Yves Behar among those posting behind-the-scenes images.

This picture of Nendo's one-year retrospective exhibition at Milan's Museo della Permanente, taken by Matti Klenell, was selected by the Dezeen team as the overall winner.

Klenell will receive a blue version of Ora Unica, a watch by Milanese designer Denis Guidone that is manufactured by Italian brand NAVA, courtesy of Dezeen Watch Store.

"We heard from lots of designers and visitors that they were checking the tag on Instagram every morning to help them choose what to see each day, so it functioned as a really useful resource as well," said Dezeen editor Anna Winston, one of the judges for #milanogram2015.

"We were really impressed with the quality of some of the photographs, not to mention the volume of participants," she added.

An honourable mention was given to Instagram user mrbrotons, whose images were described by the judges as "consistently beautiful".

Among the shortlisted images were photographs of three design week visitors sheltering from the rain with umbrellas and an image of reflections in mirrors at an installation for car brand Lexus.

The judging panel also included Dezeen's editor-in-chief Marcus Fairs and social media editor Ross Bryant.
