Gorenje's futuristic kitchen on its journey across Europe

UNIQUE GORENJE Ora-Ito FUTURISTIC KITCHEN A FEAST FOR THE EYES

From Istanbul to Vienna and further

Following a concept by the currently hottest designer of the young generation, Ora-Ito, the designer of Gorenje's most recent appliance collection Gorenje Ora-Ito, the company manufactured a special kitchen dubbed the 'futuristic kitchen'. As it represents our lifestyle in the future, the designation is quite apt. An exhibition model of the futuristic kitchen is set out on a journey through the most popular locations and markets of European Capitals, where it can be displayed for the greatest number of people. After Belgrade, Istanbul and Vienna, the kitchen's next stop is in Ukrainian capital Kiev, where it will be displayed on Myhaylivski Square in the center of the town from July 5 th to 8 th 2007.

Advanced materials and shapes that Gorenje built in a visionary manner into the futuristic kitchen and the Gorenje Ora-Ito appliance collection are already quite common in architecture; according to Gorenje's vision, they will be increasingly employed in the interior design in the future. Gorenje, a technologically advanced company, is also aware that the more technology becomes complex, the more simple the interface between them and the user; hence, they refuse to wait for others to develop such solutions, and pursue their development on their own.

The futuristic kitchen has the shape of a rounded cube, or block, and it is manufactured as a monolith that can be lifted and transported to the desired location. It is made of an advanced composite material that is often named 'the material of the future' by designers and architects. Material is resistant to all weather conditions, enabling the kitchen to be displayed outdoors. Integrated into the kitchen are the appliances of the new Gorenje Ora-Ito collection, distinctive for the uniform design of the front panels made of black glass and aluminum handles, either in natural aluminum color or in black. This line of products addresses primarily the trend-aware urban consumers looking for quality yet reasonably priced kitchen products with excellent and distinctive design.

Exhibition model of the futuristic kitchen with the appliances of the Gorenje Ora-Ito collection has already begun its journey through the most popular locations and markets of European capitals, where it will be displayed for the greatest number of by-passers. The kitchen was exhibited for the first time at the Belgrade Design Week that took place from May 7th to 12th 2007, in downtown Belgrade on Terazije Square; the audience was thrilled. This was followed by a display on one of the picturesque markets of Istanbul, the Şişli Market, where Gorenje recently organized an international presentation of the new Gorenje Ora-Ito household appliance collection. The next stop of was in Vienna on June 13th and 14th 2007, on famous Museums Quartier, one of the most frequented spots in the city center. The kitchen's next stop is in Ukrainian capital Kiev, where it will be displayed on Myhaylivski Square in the center of the town from July 5 th to 8 th 2007.

To date, only a prototype specimen of the futuristic kitchen has been manufactured; Gorenje is also planning to offer it as a unique niche product, manufactured according to the requirements and desires of each individual customer.
