Foster + Partners completed its latest store for Apple, while construction started on a marine science museum designed by the architects.
BIG returned to the headlines as work began on its curvaceous skyscraper in Calgary, Canada. Bjarke Ingels' firm also released images of a looping "snail" house designed for a car collector.
Herzog & de Meuron updated its design for the M+ museum in Hong Kong, and Thomas Heatherwick's controversial Garden Bridge was threatened with legal action.
In other architecture news, images were leaked of the design that will replace London's part-built Pinnacle skyscraper.
It was a busy week for car manufacturers, as luxury car-maker Aston Martin showcased its Vantage GT3 and McLaren revealed its track-dedicated P1 GTR.
Italian manufacturer Ferrari also hit the press as it released an "aggressive-looking" Formula One concept car.
In technology news, electronics company LG released a smartwatch designed to target the luxury market, Apple was granted a patent for a virtual reality headset and Sony announced plans to release its SmartEyeglass devices to developers next month.
