Four Leaves Villa
by Kentaro Ishida Architects

KIAS

Kentaro Ishida Architects has designed a villa with curved surfaces to resemble gently twisted leaves at a mountain retreat near Tokyo.

In order to acquire specific natural scenery and light environment, each living function faces its own desired orientation. Roofs were designed as curved surfaces to form variable cross-sections suitable for each function.

The design process responds to its environmental context, producing multiple organic roofs and established architecture as an aggregate of diverse living spaces.

This project has been longlisted in the rural house project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
