French automobile brand Renault are showing a range of electric concept cars at the Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung (Frankfurt Motor Show) in Germany this week.

Car brand BMW will unveil its Vision EfﬁcientDynamics concept car at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.

The hybrid-engined car features 2+2 seating, polycarbonate windows and gull-wing doors.

It has an anticipated top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) and can reach 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds.

Fuel consumption is 3.76 litres per 100 kilometre.

San Francisco industrial designers Mike + Maaike have proposed a self-driving electric passenger vehicle that they claim heralds &#8220;the end of driving&#8221;.

The Autonomobile (ATNMBL) is a concept car is designed around passenger, rather than driver, experience with architectural styling, a lounge-like interior and fully glazed sides.

Tata Motors of India have launched the Tata Nano, heralded as the world&#8217;s cheapest car, with dealer prices starting at 100,000 Indian Rupees ($2,000).

Billed as &#8220;the people&#8217;s car&#8221;, the four-door, four-seater features a 2-cylinder, 624cc engine and does 50 miles to the gallon (20km per litre).

It goes on sale in India next month.

San Francisco designer Yves Béhar of fuseproject has unveiled Mission One, the world&#8217;s fastest electric production motorcycle.

Designed for Mission Motors, the bike was unveiled at the TED 2009 conference at Long Beach, California, today.

The bike has a top speed of 150 MPH and an estimated range of 150 miles.
