Judges of the AOP 2012 Awards described Dezeen as "A smart entrepreneurial brand, with beautifully designed products - from websites to pop-up shops. Strong evidence of experimentation, fast growing revenue and audience". More »

TED Prize winners

Dezeen Wire: the first five winners of this year's TED Prize for urban innovation have been announced. Recipients include London design studio 00:/ for their project WikiHouse, which involves the construction of wooden houses from a downloaded kit of parts. Read our story about the project here.
This year, instead of going to individuals, the TED Prize was awarded to the concept of The City 2.0. Ten projects that improve urban life will each be given $10,000. Nominations for the next five winners are now being sought.

The winners were selected from over 700 entries from 66 countries around the world and will now go forward to compete for the overall prize of World Building of the Year 2011, to be announced tomorrow together with the prizes for Structural Project of the Year 2011 and Future Project of the Year 2011.
