Dezeen Music Project: Shake
by Blak Nite

UK artist Blak Nite, as his name suggests, specialises in exploring dark and murky sonic territories, creating music that, in his own words, sounds "as if it was found in a ditch or gutter or down a back alley."

Shake, which is taken from Blak Nite's Shadow Party EP, is built around a deep, rumbling bass from which fragments of vocal samples sporadically emerge.

You can watch the music video for the track here.

Dezeen Music Project: Amorphous Romance
by Max Cooper and Tom Hodge

UK producer Max Cooper and classical composer Tom Hodge have teamed up to create this haunting electronica track called Amorphous Romance, taken from part two of the duo's Fragmented Self EP.

Hodge's piano playing is the focus of the track, to which Cooper has added subtle but increasingly intense electronic percussion, which he created from chopped-up samples of the sound of the crowd at a Manchester United football match.

Dezeen Music Project: Jungle Du Dimanche
by Aimedeuxhaine

Jungle Du Dimanche is a dreamy electronica track by French producer Aimedeuxhaine. Starting with a few clicks and keyboard splashes, the track builds up almost self-indulgently slowly. But it's worth sticking with it for the beautifully inventive rhythms and melodies that kick in around half-way through.

Dezeen Music Project: Family Music
by Y'Skid

Here's another track by Eindhoven-based hip hop producer Y'Skid. Family Music is a bit jazzier than the previous track we featured by Y'Skid, but has still got a great hip hop groove.

We liked the track so much we used it on the soundtrack to our first Dezeen and MINI World Tour movie from Eindhoven with Miriam van der Lubbe.

Dezeen Music Project: Doubtful
by Y'Skid

Dezeen is in Eindhoven for the penultimate leg of our Dezeen and MINI World Tour, so we thought we should seek out some musical talent based in the city.

Y'Skid is a local producer who has created some great jazz-infused hip hop tracks. This instrumental called Doubtful has quite a different vibe, but we love its laid-back groove.

Dezeen Music Project: Hanging Out Of
Moving Vehicles by RyIm

It's rare for a chill-out track to make a big first impression - they tend to be slow-burners by nature - but there's something immediately arresting about Hanging Out Of Moving Vehicles by USA artist RyIm.

We can't put our finger on it, but the combination of skittering drums and echoey guitars seems to hit the spot from the moment the track kicks in.

Dezeen Music Project: Never Never
by K H U S H I

We featured debut single Magpie by East London musician K H U S H I a few weeks ago on Dezeen Music Project. This stripped-back track called Never Never is the B-side to that release and is available now, together with the main single, on Laissez Faire Club Records.

Dezeen Music Project: Feeling Beast
by Man Oeuvre

We used this experimental electronica track by Man Oeuvre on our first Dezeen and MINI World Tour movie from Singapore.

Feeling Beast starts off with glitchy samples, before kicking in with a solid groove that slowly becomes more and more discordant as the track progresses.

Dezeen Music Project: Facility
by Dead Red Sun

We've been using music by London instrumental band Dead Red Sun on the soundtracks for our Dezeen and MINI World Tour movies from the UK capital.

This track called Facility builds up intricately with increasingly busy layers of post-rock guitars before a heavy dose of no-nonsense distortion kicks in halfway through.

Dezeen Music Project: Basketball (remix)
by Strong Asian Mothers

Proving that you can remix anything into anything, electronic group Strong Asian Mothers have created a trap-inspired version of a track by London guitar band Francobollo. It's quite a radical departure from the grungy guitar riffs of the original record, which you can check out here.

Dezeen Music Project: Magpie
by K H U S H I

London Design Festival kicks off next week so we thought it was only right to focus on music by some of the city's upcoming musical talents on Dezeen Music Project over the next few weeks.

East London musician K H U S H I has had a busy year since we featured his track When You Start on Dezeen Music Project in September 2012 and has been getting increasingly more airplay on Radio 1.

In October he'll be releasing his debut single, a heartfelt love song called Magpie. This is a new radio-friendly edit of the track, which he has just finished mixing, but the extended version is definitely worth a listen too.
