<p>The information below is from Wagell:</p>
<hr />
<p>BULKY – Tea set by Jonas Wagell</p>
<p>Bulky has a colourful and expressive form with slightly oversized details.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-116293" title="Bulky by Jonas Wagell for Muuto" src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2011/02/dzn_Bulky-by-Jonas-Wagell-for-Muuto-3.jpg" alt="Bulky by Jonas Wagell for Muuto" width="468" height="468" /></p>
<p>Its playful design is inspired by fairy tales and children’s story books where things and shapes were exaggerated and emphasized to fit a kid’s wild imagination.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-116294" title="Bulky by Jonas Wagell for Muuto" src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2011/02/dzn_Bulky-by-Jonas-Wagell-for-Muuto-4.jpg" alt="Bulky by Jonas Wagell for Muuto" width="468" height="468" /></p>
<p>The name Bulky further underlines the over-dimensioned and friendly proportions.</p>

<p><strong>Stockholm 2010: </strong>designer <a href="http://www.jonaswagell.se/">Jonas Wagell</a> of Sweden created an installation representing the forest and the city for the Design Bar at the <a href="http://www.stockholmfurniturefair.com/">Stockholm Furniture Fair</a> last week.<span id="more-65559"></span></p>
<p><img src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2010/02/dzn_Design-Bar-by-Jonas-Wagell-at-Stockholm-Furniture-Fair-16.jpg" alt="" width="450" height="675" /></p>
<p>The area was divided into two parts with the bar labelled "the industry" and the VIP area labelled "the forest".</p>
<p><img src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2010/02/dzn_Design-Bar-by-Jonas-Wagell-at-Stockholm-Furniture-Fair-15.jpg" alt="" width="450" height="675" /></p>
<p>Furnished with Wagells' own furniture and lighting, the two spaces had large balloons suspended from the ceiling representing white clouds over the forest and black smoke for the industrial theme.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-65588" src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2010/02/dzn_Design-Bar-by-Jonas-Wagell-at-Stockholm-Furniture-Fair-2.jpg" alt="" width="450" height="300" /></p>
<p>Cutouts in the shape of mountains and trees were positioned on the forest side, and corresponding buildings and clouds of smoke on the other.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-65590" src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2010/02/dzn_Design-Bar-by-Jonas-Wagell-at-Stockholm-Furniture-Fair-4.jpg" alt="" width="450" height="675" /></p>
<p>See all our stories about Stockholm 2010 in <a href="http://www.dezeen.com/category/events/stockholm-2010/">our special category</a>.</p>
<p>The text below is from the Stockholm Furniture Fair:</p>
<hr />Stage design and and graphics in the Design Bar</p>
<p>The task of designing the Design Bar at the Stockholm Furniture Fair and Northern Light Fair in 2010 has been awarded to the architect and designer Jonas Wagell. It will be a three-dimensional installation playing with colour, form, and spatial interpretation.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-65591" src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2010/02/dzn_Design-Bar-by-Jonas-Wagell-at-Stockholm-Furniture-Fair-5.jpg" alt="" width="450" height="300" /></p>
<p>Jonas Wagell's Design Bar is a meeting place and a resting place, meant to simultaneously inspire, evoke emotions and surprise. With simple interpretation and distinct forms, he wants to create an expressive environment where people linger.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-65593" src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2010/02/dzn_Design-Bar-by-Jonas-Wagell-at-Stockholm-Furniture-Fair-7.jpg" alt="" width="450" height="300" /></p>
<p>"I want to use small means and simple materials to create an environment with grand expressions and strong character. Trade fairs are temporary structures, hastily erected only to be torn down within days. Instead of bulding an environment that tries to be something more than this, I see an exciting challenge in embracing the temporary and creating a spatial presence with a glance at stage design and graphics, rather than glamorous, polished architecture," Jonas Wagell says.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-65594" src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2010/02/dzn_Design-Bar-by-Jonas-Wagell-at-Stockholm-Furniture-Fair-8.jpg" alt="" width="450" height="300" /></p>
<p>"We have some news for 2010. One of them is the relocation of the Design Bar to the newly built part in Hall A/Eastern Entrance. Other news for next year is that we will have a VIP Lounge next to the Design Bar," says Cecilia Nyberg, Project Manager for Stockholm Furniture Fair and Northern Light Fair.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-65599" src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2010/02/dzn_Design-Bar-by-Jonas-Wagell-at-Stockholm-Furniture-Fair-13.jpg" alt="" width="450" height="300" /></p>
<p>Jonas Wagell has been commissioned to do the overall design, and also design the VIP Lounge. The area will consist of two separate sections. They have the same conceptual structure, but with very different emotional and spatial expressions. In the bar, snacks are served, and the visitor can relax with a drink or a cup of coffee, while the secluded VIP Lounge offers more private and undisturbed seating for meetings and conversations.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-65605" src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2010/02/dzn_Design-Bar-by-Jonas-Wagell-at-Stockholm-Furniture-Fair-19.jpg" alt="" width="450" height="300" /></p>
<p>Jonas Wagell is an architect and designer, with a background in project management and marketing. In 2008 , the international magazine Wallpaper* named him one of ”the hottest 50 young architects in the world”, and his Mini House concept won the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the United Kingdom's ”2008 Innovation Award”.</p>
<p><img src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2010/02/dzn_Design-Bar-by-Jonas-Wagell-at-Stockholm-Furniture-Fair-1.jpg" alt="" width="450" height="300" /></p>
<p>In 2009, Wagell founded the design brand Happy Industry and rolled out their first collection, which Wallpaper* named ”Best of Stockholm Design Week 2009”.</p>
<p><img src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2010/02/dzn_Design-Bar-by-Jonas-Wagell-at-Stockholm-Furniture-Fair-11.jpg" alt="" width="450" height="318" /></p>
<p>The purpose of the Design Bar, which is a mixture of exhibit and bar, is to showcase a Swedish designer or group. In previous years, the designers have included the Marge architectural practice, the Front design group, the BrobergRidderstråle design duo, the Save our Souls design duo, and last year, the Camp Site designer collective.</p>

<p><strong>Stockholm Design Week 09:</strong> Swedish designer <a href="http://www.jonaswagell.se/">Jonas Wagell </a>will display three new collections called Odd, Symbio and Bold at <a href="http://webfair2.stofair.se/furniturefair_eng/index.asp?menulink=2">Stockholm Furniture Fair</a> this week.  <span id="more-24320"></span></p>

<p>Odd (top image) is a series of lamps, bowls and vases made of aluminium, birch and ceramic. Symbio (above) is a table lamp designed for dimming, low-energy bulbs, available in four different colours. Bold (below) is a wall clock available in two sizes.</p>
<p><img src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2009/02/450-bold4_hires.jpg" alt="450-bold4_hires.jpg" /></p>
<p>Stockholm Furniture Fair takes place 4-8 February.</p>
<p>Here's some more information from Jonas Wagell about each design:</p>
<p>--</p>
<p>After winning 100% Futures Competition last fall Jonas Wagell received a free 60 sqm space in the young designers hall, where he built a full-scale Mini House - a flat-pack, prefab house concept (<a href="http://www.dezeen.com/2008/09/28/mini-house-by-jonas-wagell/">see our previous story</a>). At Stockholm Furniture Fair 2009 Jonas Wagell will show three exciting products which will soon be available for purchase:</p>
<p><img src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2009/02/bold-odd-and-symbio-by-jonas-wagell-odd5.jpg" alt="bold-odd-and-symbio-by-jonas-wagell-odd5.jpg" /></p>
<p>ODD<br />
Lamps, bowls and vases</p>
<p>Meet the Odd family, a product series consisting of four pendant lamps and four bowls.</p>
<p><img src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2009/02/odd2_hires.jpg" alt="odd2_hires.jpg" /></p>
<p>The items have a playful and strong character created by combining a colourful bowl in aluminium with a base of solid birch or white ceramic in various ways. And upside-down.</p>
<p><img src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2009/02/bold-odd-and-symbio-by-jonas-wagell-odd6.jpg" alt="bold-odd-and-symbio-by-jonas-wagell-odd6.jpg" /></p>

<p>SYMBIO<br />
Table lamp</p>
<p>Symbiosis is a table lamp with classic features, suited for modern low energy light bulbs. The table lamp is designed to aesthetically fit the new dimmable low energy globes.</p>
<p><img src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2009/02/odd-symbio-and-bold-by-jonas-wagell-450-symbio3_hires.jpg" alt="odd-symbio-and-bold-by-jonas-wagell-450-symbio3_hires.jpg" /></p>

<p>Swedish designer <a href="http://www.jonaswagell.se">Jonas Wagell</a> presented <a href="http://www.minihouse.se">Mini House</a>, a 15 square metre house that can be built in a weekend, at <a href="http://www.100percentdesign.co.uk/">100% Design</a> in London earlier this month.<span id="more-18623"></span></p>
<p><img src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2008/09/minihouse2sq.jpg" alt="minihouse2sq.jpg" /></p>
<p>Wagell showed a full-size prototype of the house, which responds to a new law in Sweden allowing people to build homes of up to 15 square metres without requiring permission.</p>
<p><img src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2008/09/minihouse8.jpg" alt="minihouse8.jpg" /></p>
<p>Mini House is made and sold by house is produced and sold by <a href="http://www.nordicmarineliving.com/">Nordic Marine Living AB</a>. Here's some info from Wagell:</p>
<p>--</p>
<p>Since January 1st 2008 Swedish property owners are allowed to build a 15 sqm house on their land without a building permit.</p>
<p><img src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2008/09/minihouse4.jpg" alt="minihouse4.jpg" /></p>
<p>The Mini house project arose from this and has, by taking advantage of the building regulations, grown to twice the allowed size, still with no permits needed!</p>
<p><img src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2008/09/minihouse1.jpg" alt="minihouse1.jpg" /></p>
<p>Mini house is a “friggebod” concept which brings some fun and excitement to a dull  and conservative market. The concept means prefabrication, flat-pack delivery and weekend-long build-up!  Building a house should be fun and easy. Kind of like putting together an Ikea cabinet!</p>
<p><img src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2008/09/minihouse6.jpg" alt="minihouse6.jpg" /></p>
<p>A MODERN “FRIGGEBOD” CONCEPT.</p>
<p>Mini House is a modern, functional and esthetical Swedish friggebod-shed of 15 sqm, suited for both summer and winter living.  In addition to the small house the concept provides an outdoor terrace with pergola,  all within the framework of the permit-free Swedish regulations.</p>
<p><img src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2008/09/minihouse7.jpg" alt="minihouse7.jpg" /></p>
<p>Mini house is constructed to be easy to build. By prefabricating the walls as sandwich elements of plywood and styrofoam, a light-weight, sturdy and insulated construction is enabled.</p>
<p><img src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2008/09/minihouse5.jpg" alt="minihouse5.jpg" /></p>
<p>Also, critical details such as windows and electrical feeds can be prepared. The house is delivered flat-pack. Furthermore, Mini House can be customized with add-ons like kitchen- and bath module, heater-kit with chimney or a solar power unit to provide the house with electricity.</p>
<p><img src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2008/09/minihouse9.jpg" alt="minihouse9.jpg" /></p>
<p>When designing the Mini house concept Jonas Wagell put a lot of emphasis on creating a house that is not built as traditional timber houses, since that would create a sort of error in scale. Friggebod-sheds often appear shrinked, like miniature houses, drained in details and odd proportions, since they are constructed with the same components as large houses.</p>
<p><img src="http://static.dezeen.com/uploads/2008/09/minihouse10.jpg" alt="minihouse10.jpg" /></p>
