The little red men with cut-out hearts hold pages together by hugging them with flexible arms. Made from laser-cut polypropylene, the clips come in packs of four.

Washington also makes Little Romance bookmarks that are sold alongside the paperclips at his Little Man Shop, where you can also find his original Little Man stationery items.

Called Flex, the pots make use of the material's flexibility and have covers that are fixed at one side but flap up at the other. "Looking like small animals, the flexible lids can be opened easily and always close back, so the containers never stay opened where they are not in use," says Kral.

Praxis produces silicone desktop products by a number of European designers including Alexander Taylor, Big-Game, Alexis Georgacopoulos and Tomàs Alonso. We featured bird-like silicone containers by Swedish designers TAF for Praxis back in May.

Tomas Kral has a studio in Lausanne, Switzerland, where he also teaches at ECAL. Other designs by Tomas Kral on Dezeen include his graduation project combining cork and glass, and a pencil case with teeth.

Inspired by the cotton-reel tanks they played with as children, All Lovely Stuff designers Ed Ward and Carl Clerkin adapted the mechanical toy to hold a felt tip pen.

To propel the machine, simply wind the cotton reel while holding the wax cylinder, then place it down and let go. The height and position of the pen can be adjusted to make bigger or smaller circles, or straight lines.

The machine comes in a self-assembly kit containing an oak cotton reel, a clothes peg, a felt tip pen, a rubber band, a dowel and a piece of wax, and is available online from All Lovely Stuff.

Earlier this year Dezeen filmed a movie with designer Carl Clerkin, who told us about his aim to create functional wooden products with "a little bit of charm about them".

Noticing that cards are usually discarded soon after they're received, British company Foldable Cuts designed this set so they would be kept. The front of each card has a picture of the boat you can make and the net to create the model is printed on the back with simple cut-and-fold instructions.

The series of five cards includes a dingy, sailing boat, cargo ship, cruiser and a yacht. Individual cards can be bought for £3 each and the whole collection is available for £14 from the Foldable Cuts website.

The Workaholic collection by Thai designers THINKK Studio includes the CementWood hanging lamps made from hand-lathed ash and concrete.

The Truck desk tidy is made from ash wood and powder coated steel and has a container that slides out to reveal two compartments inside.

The Foldo desk lamp comprises an ash base and a thin sheet of powder coated steel which curves over to form a lampshade.

The Truss concrete vase can be paired with one of three different wire frames in geometric shapes.

The vases in the Workaholic collection are similar to an earlier series of concrete and wire vases by THINKK Studio designer Decha Archjananun.

We've published two other lamps by THINKK Studio - a wooden lamp that slots into a marble base and another wooden lamp held together by a red cord.

On this project, We provide more choices of materials for 2 main parts of the hanging lamp which made of concrete and wood. There are 2 different hand crafted techniques for making the same shape made of both materials.
