Dinesen's 600-square-metre space occupies a site beside a series of lakes on the border of the Danish capital's centre and is divided into two areas.

Extraordinary by Nature showcases the products in an apartment setting and Tree of a Kind uses more sculptural forms made from the planks.

Both spaces include handcrafted wooden furniture and interior fittings designed by OEO specifically for the showroom.

"Our goal was to create an inspiring new showroom that would allow visitors to immerse themselves fully in the world of Dinesen," said Thomas Lykke of OEO.

"The company offers much more than perfect immaculate flooring and we wanted to inspire people to think in new and different ways."

The Extraordinary by Nature section features a dining area, a library, a kitchen, a wine cellar and a ballroom, all in a colour palette inspired by the work of turn-of-the-century Danish painter Vilhelm Hammershøi.

Tree of a Kind contains the main gallery area and retains the original structure and features of the showroom's 19th century building. A 15-metre-long plank table offers a focal point within the space.

"The OEO design team have created a raw, playful space that presents a creative take on the use of Dinesen products with planks on display in a variety of dimensions and expressions," said a spokesperson for the brand.

"The main gallery room features both a monumental wooden structure that plays with light and shadow as well as a reception area inspired by the new coffee culture found in the streets of Tokyo."

Designs used to furnish the spaces range from iconic pieces by Danish Modernist designers, such as Finn Juhl's Pelican Chair and Arne Jacobsen's Drop Chair, to newer releases including the Oslo sofa by local brand Muuto and the TS side table by Copenhagen-based studio GamFratesi.
