Alexander Lervik's Bikupa is available for exclusive pre-order from Dezeen Watch Store
Dezeen Watch Store: Swedish designer Alexander Lervik's first wristwatch, which features a circular case punctured by hexagonal holes, is now available for exclusive pre-order.

The Bikupa took six years to develop and was created for Lervik's own design brand, Tingest.
The timepiece is defined by its unusual, honeycomb-like appearance. An incomplete grid of perforations punctures its round face, partially revealing the hands underneath.

It comes in stainless steel finished in brass, black or steel, and with a brown or black Moroccan leather wrist strap. You can pre-order yours from Dezeen Watch store here.
Tingest launched the Bikupa watch at Stockholm Design Week 2016, along with other perforated items including hole-punched chairs and pendant lamps.
"I was inspired by a picture of honeycomb, where the design is made from one hexagon filled with honey," Lervik told Dezeen.

"For me, Scandinavian design means simplicity and inspiration from nature. The Bikupa watch, which takes its inspiration from the bee world, has a combination of simplicity and maximalism."
Stockholm-based Alexander Lervik has worked as a product designer for 18 years. His previous designs include a table with a foldaway tray and a chair made of wooden rods like a bed of nails.
