Kaldewei launches shower surfaces that sit level with your floor

Dezeen promotion: Nexsys is a range of minimal shower surfaces by bathroom brand Kaldewei, which come complete with integrated drainage channels.

Each floor-level Nexsys surface is a complete system that comes pre-assembled, meaning it can be easily slotted into showers with limited installation depth below.

The range is minimalist in its design, with bright white surfaces and narrow waste channels in brushed stainless-steel enamel.

Kaldewei describes the range as "fascinating, persuasive and long-lasting".

"Nexsys takes a completely new approach to floor-level showers, perfectly combining two worlds: with one of the main advantages being it's a seamless shower surface made of steel enamel with the design of a tilted shower area with a shower channel," it said.

"The visual highlight of the elegant design is the narrow waste channel with a high-end designer cover made of brushed stainless steel that fits seamlessly into the shower surface's overall minimalist look."

The range includes surfaces in eight sizes, from widths as little as 900 millimetres, up to 1,600 millimetres.

There is no interior frame, meaning a surface can be installed directly into a bathroom's tile grid.

Each product comes with sound insulation tape, so sound-proofing can be guaranteed.

Kaldewei celebrates its centenary this year. The international company, based in Germany, launched its first steel-enamel shower in 1956. It now offers a range of over 600 shower surfaces, as well as bathtubs, washbasins and other bathroom accessories.

The company prides itself on creating creating "shower systems that constantly set new standards in terms of design, functionality and ease of assembly".
