LS 990 switches in Les Couleurs palette by Jung

Dezeen Showroom: Building-technology supplier Jung has updated the colour range for its minimalist LS 990 switches to incorporate Le Corbusier's vast Les Couleurs palette.

The flat LS 990 switches, which are made in plastic and metal, are now available in all 63 shades of Les Couleurs . The palette was initially developed by Corbusier as two colour collections in 1931 and 1959.

Jung updated the LS 990 collection to offer designers of both residential and commercial interiors more colour options for light switches, while also providing an opportunity for the fixtures to be used as "signalling" or wayfinding within a space.

The LS 990 switches are available in sizes ranging from a single unit to a five-gang frame, and with various button configurations.

"Le Corbusier was one of the most significant and influential 20th-century architects, who was also an accomplished painter and artist," explained Jung. "For him, the colour composition of a building was just as important as layout and sections."

"The switches' colours can be perfectly coordinated with wall colours or wallpaper to create high visual contrasts," it added.
