Dezeen Showroom: Italian brand Marazzi has launched Oltre, a porcelain tile that replicates the appearance of wood.

The Oltre plank tiles emulate the look of oak floorboards but have all the properties of Marazzi's state-of-the-art stoneware.

They boast a Zero Glossy extra-matt finish, a StepWise slip-resistant coating and a Puro antibacterial treatment that protects the material and guarantees it is hygienic.

An interlocking pattern system reproduces the grain of timber floorboards in a precise and continuous way.

"Oltre is the perfect synthesis of beauty, convenience and protection, in an attractive range of light, natural colours for creating design schemes that convey comfort and elegance," said Marazzi.

The tiles are available in four colours — white, natural, sand, caramel. There are three large size options of 22.5 by 180, 20 by 120 and 30 by 120 centimetres. There are also skirting and step tiles.

Oltre is suitable for both indoors and outdoors.
