NEW low-carbon building by Dubuisson Architecture
Michel Denancé

Dubuisson Architecture has created a low-carbon building designed in wood on the banks of the Seine River, north of Paris.

The project, from client Nexity Immobilier d’Entreprise, is a new low-carbon tertiary building of 15,000 square metres in the ZAC PSA, the former industrial site of Citroën, in Asnières, France.

A strong environmental ambition shaped the evolution of the building, designed entirely in wood and set on a concrete base to ensure protection and durability in a flood-prone area.

The rounded roof silhouette echoes that of the adjoining 1925 PSA hall, while the framework forming this visible vault is composed of a series of laminated wood arches creating a mesh protected by a zinc roof. The H-shaped plan opens the building onto the banks of the Seine and optimizes solar gain in the centre of the plot.

With its energy sobriety and warm ambience, it is thought of as both a living space and workplace.

This project has been longlisted in the business building category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
