Lai Zhou Bar

RooMoo Design Studio has designed the Lai Zhou Bar in Shanghai, China.

The spatial sequence of Lai Zhou Bar was created through the methods of extracting and amplifying the factory production process, using waste materials generated during the production process.

The facade is connected to the infinity symbol formed by the double ring structure on the top of the tasting area and bar area, echoing and linking the mutually beneficial symbiosis between the Lai Zhou Winery in Qionglai City, Chengdu and the Lai Zhou Bar in Shanghai.

The space planning consists of a tasting area, VIP room, bar area, kitchen, bathroom and outdoor display area.

"Qionglai has an excellent natural environment for winemaking and is also the best place to watch the largest fireflies in Asia," said RooMoo Design Studio.

"Therefore, we used nearly 6,000 discarded wooden barrel pieces removed from whiskey oak barrels to connect the long space from the outdoors to the indoors in the form of an installation, forming a flowing spatial visual experience."

This project has been shortlisted in the restaurant and bar interior category of Dezeen Awards China 2023.
