If you do not agree with any of the terms or conditions, then you should not take part in Dezeen Awards.

Once you have created an account, we reserve the right to send you further correspondence regarding our awards programme. You can unsubscribe by clicking on "unsubscribe" at the bottom of any of our emails.

2 Eligibility

2.1 Only completed projects may be entered. Speculative or unrealised designs are not eligible. To be eligible for entry to Dezeen Awards 2024, architecture and interiors projects must have been completed between 1 June 2022 and 31 May 2024. To be considered as completed, architecture projects need to have been handed over to the client. Design projects must have been exhibited as final prototypes or have gone into production between 1 June 2022 and 31 May 2024.

2.2 All entries must be submitted by or on behalf of the designer, architect or studio chiefly responsible for the project and named as such in press and publicity material. Entries submitted on behalf of a designer, studio or architecture firm must be done so with their permission. Joint entries are allowed if the project was designed by more than one designer or company.

2.3 If the same project is entered by more than one designer, architect or studio, we reserve the right to disqualify all entries. Dezeen Limited reserves the right to disqualify an entry if it becomes apparent that a submission is inaccurate or if Dezeen or the jury have any uncertainty about the integrity of the entry.

2.4 Entries must be submitted via the online awards entry form that can be found on our website at www.dezeen.com/awards. All written work submitted must be in English. If you submit a project in another language, Dezeen Limited reserves the right to disqualify it. Project costs must be converted from local currencies and stated as GBP (£).

2.5 Projects must only be submitted into a category once. If two parties have collaborated on a project together, it is the entrant's responsibility to ensure that the project is only submitted by one of the collaborating parties. The designated entrant will be responsible for all stages of the entry.

3 Requirements

3.1 Entries must be submitted before 23:59 London time on the night of 6 June 2024. No entries will be accepted after this time.

3.2 All entries must be submitted digitally via the entry form on the Dezeen Awards website at www.dezeen.com/awards. No other method of submitting entries will be accepted. Our awards entry form requires the entrant to provide a name, address, email address and phone number.

3.3 Applicants are allowed to enter as many projects as they wish, in as many categories as they wish. Applicants can access and modify their entries via the account created on the awards website.

3.4 Applicants can make changes to their entry up to the point of payment, after which no further changes can be made.

4 Images

4.1 Entries will be judged solely on the material submitted. Entries must include at least one photograph of the completed project. Photographs must be unadulterated and genuine, although minor retouching is permitted. Computer-generated images are accepted as supporting material where relevant but these will be given secondary importance during judging. Such images must be clearly captioned as being computer-generated. Dezeen Limited shall be under no obligation to request alternative or replacement images.

4.2 Applicants represent and warrant that all materials submitted will not infringe or constitute a misappropriation of any right of any third party, including any copyrights, mask work rights, patent rights, trademark rights, trade secret rights or confidentiality rights and agree to indemnify Dezeen Limited and its employees against any liabilities, damages, losses, costs or expenses arising as a result thereof.

5 Entry fees

5.1 The entry fees are dependent on the date of entry and the size of the company, as set out on the Dezeen Awards website. Any entrant deemed to have acted dishonestly when registering their entry will be contacted which may result in disqualification. Upon registration, entrants should ensure they enter the correct information.

5.2 Payment must be made through the online payment system on the Dezeen Awards website. Entrants will receive confirmation that their entry or entries have been successfully received via email once payment has been made. No other payment method will be accepted except at the discretion of Dezeen Limited.

6 Refunds

6.1 Participants are allowed to withdraw their submitted projects from Dezeen Awards at any time, however, fees will not be refunded if the submitted entry is withdrawn.

6.2 In the event of disqualification, the entrant’s entry fees will be refunded within 30 days.

7 Categories

7.1 There are a total of 41 project categories that can be entered across architecture, interiors, design and sustainability. These categories are listed on the Dezeen Awards website.

7.2 Entrants can enter as many of the project categories as many times as they wish.

7.3 The winning project in each of the 41 project categories will be put forward for one of four Project of the Year awards: one each for architecture, interiors, design and sustainability.

7.4 In addition, there are six Designer of the Year awards: two each for architecture, interiors and design. In each case, one award is for established architects, designers or studios, and the other is for emerging architects, designers or studios. This year we will ask Dezeen readers to nominate designers, who will then be shortlisted by Dezeen's editorial team.

7.5 There is also The Bentley Lighthouse Award. This can also not be entered into and will be via nomination only.

8 Judges

8.1 Dezeen Awards will appoint an international panel of judges of leading figures from the world of architecture, interiors and design. There will be approximately 90 judges in total. A master jury of approximately 20 judges will be selected from the original panel of judges for a later judging stage.

8.2 Names, biographies and portraits of Dezeen Awards judges will be made public on the Dezeen Awards website.

8.3 Dezeen Limited will organise, select and manage the judging panel, which will be instructed to act without bias or favour. If a judge faces a potential conflict of interest, they will be assigned to a different category. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding their decisions or decision-making processes.

9 Judging process

9.1 The judging process for project awards, Designer of the Year awards and The Bentley Lighthouse Award will differ.

9.2 Project categories judging: The first stage, called "longlisting", will see all project entries reviewed by the Dezeen editorial team, assisted by architecture and design experts, who will use their skill and knowledge to select around 15 entries in each category. Entries will be evaluated using the judging criteria as set out on the Dezeen Awards entry information page.

9.3 Project categories judging: The second stage, called "shortlisting", will involve the international panel of judges, who will select a shortlist of between four and eight entries in each project category. Each member of the judging panel will judge between 30-60 projects across two project categories. This will be done remotely, with each judge scoring entries using an online scoring system. Scores will be given according to the judging criteria. The scoring will also identify suggested award winners.

9.4 Project categories judging: The third stage, called "ratification", will involve the master jury, who will convene and ratify the suggested project category winners.

9.5 Project of the Year awards: the master jury will select Project of the Year winners from the winners of the individual architecture, interiors and design project categories.

9.6 Designer of the Year awards judging: Dezeen readers will put forward nominations for each of these awards. These nominations will be put to Dezeen's editorial team who will decide the winners of each award.

9.7 The Bentley Lighthouse Award: Dezeen Awards judges and Dezeen's editorial team will put forward nominations for each of these awards. These nominations will be put to a master jury who will decide the winners of each award.
